Hemp is hot and farmers in New York are hoping to cash in on cannabis.

Congress passed The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, also known as the “Farm Bill,” removing the plant from the controlled substance list.

Through creating standards of production and transparency, the legislation meets the important goal of creating a bond of trust with consumers,” the New York Cannabis Growers and Processors Association said. “Transparency in the supply chain serves multiple interests—farmers, consumers and government.”

Many industry experts agree that CBD, a cannabis derivate is the solution to ease anxiety, sleep and even seizures without the high of marijuana.

Major manufacturers like NuLeaf Naturals applaud the effort which will allow greater access to legitimate product manufacturers.
